A2 Media | More Shots Completed

As planned, my friend and I went out the prom in our area to complete some more shots. This time we both focused more on scenery, and shots that will fill the gaps in between the performance. Though we didn't get as much done, we both agree that the overall quality of the shots we completed were far better than last time as I revised the previous shots.

I'll now move onto importing these shots onto the computer to edit them through iMovie & continue editing.

A2 Media | Next Date for Completing Shots

Me and my actor have decided to head out to the prom-side again this weekend to complete some more shots. The exact day we have decided is saturday (27th Jan). We have checked the weather for that date to ensure that it is not a rainy day.

A2 Media | Shot Revision

Before I move onto completing more sets of shots, I want to revise the shots I done a few weeks ago. I'll do this so that I can improve the overall quality of my music video. I have gathered opinions by a few of my classmates and friends and have concluded these are the things I should improve.

• Camera Stability

As seen by the shots I already have completed, many people suggested that I should improve the stability of my shots as the camera shake makes it difficult to see whats going on.

• Shot Focus

Many people suggested that I should try and focus the shots on the actor more, which I agree with. In my opinion the shots are a little too focused on scenery and doesn't capture the emotion of the actor to a satisfactory extent.

• Variety

One person suggested I should try to include some shot variety, which I also believe would work very well. Though I had already intended to do this, it's a sign that my plan is in the right direction.

A2 Media | Editing & iMovie

I am now moving onto the editing stage. Though I do not have all of my filming completed I still need to get as much of my storyboard complete as possible so that I can revise some of the shots to improve them and make the overall quality of the music video much higher. I also intend to follow the editing conventions of my music video style model and apply them to my own to accomplish a realistic music video.

A2 Media | Some filming complete

A few days ago, my actor and I went out to New Brighton by the beach for the day and captured a few shots of the water, my actor and the scenery surrounding us. Overall I think the shots turned out pretty well, however it only covers a portion of our filming and many shots will also need to be revised if they overall quality of my video improves.

A2 Media | Draft Filming

I completed some draft filming of a performance shot I intend to use, I simply used a white background from my bedroom that had lights hung up and used that as the set. Overall I think it worked quite well for a first attempt, but depending on the overall quality of the other shots I may want to re-visit the performance shot so that it matches better.
